My time at Oxford is ending today. It was the best academic experience I have ever had. The level of discussion in class was beyond anything I can ever hope for at Bellarmine. Having so many international students to offer their perspectives made for some enlightening debates. One learning opportunity I did not expect came from a fellow student of mine that is soon to be a major in the US Army that I mentioned in my last post. He not only became a good friend of mine but an excellent teacher. He presented on his experiences fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and I was so excited to hear about his perspective.
I enjoyed writing my two research papers. The format was a pro con style. I debated the future of air power and the benefits of the black market. Oxford does their grading system a little different here; a 70% is an A and no one ever gets above an 80%. I received a 66% and a 65%, which is the equivalent of an A-, on my papers. I am very happy with my grades considering the quality of students I was going up against.
Up next is London where I will be vacationing for a week. I will miss my friends that I made here but I am looking forward to having more time to sight see. Until next time!
